Woven in bliss, the tapestry travels through experiences that I had in and around the Red River in Vietnam.
Abstract forms of the boats, passing through beautiful formations in caves and absorbing the serene landscapes through smell, touch and sight. Some of the unwanted material found near it, like plastic, has been woven in too. The rugged feel of the entire landscape, emerging greys and blues of the mountains as the boat sails through this river, from sitting in and watching from the top of a hill, have been translated into fibre. While experiencing its flow, such landscapes have the power to make us imagine the vastness of the ocean.
The work is woven in collaboration with master Kharad weaver Samat Tejsi from Kutch.
Care instructions : Do not wash or dry clean. Dust lightly with a dry, soft brush from time to time.
