Alisha Dutt Islam was a young design graduate when she chose to forego corporate gain for the purer joys of teaching middle-school art and honing her skills as a botanical illustrator and artistic researcher. She is committed to using her art to better our understanding of our habitat, its diversity and interconnectedness. Her work ranges from illustrating botany books to designing fabric for a line of high fashion to creating art prints and stationery. Alisha’s exquisite illustrations of indigenous flowers and trees have also filled a critical gap to give us beautiful botanical images of flora unique to India.
