Khalid Amin Khatri
Khalid Amin Khatri is a master at Ajrakh, and his artworks elaborate on his unique visual approach to this traditional craft, peppered with questions on its limits. Nobody has dreamt Ajrakh as Khalid has. He combines elements of the craft with layers, masks, brush strokes and erasures, creating broken patterns and stand-alone works that make it a completely different language, rejecting blocks in favour of brush strokes, swirls, splashes, dots and anything his imagination conjures. Khalid Amin Khatri’s work has been exhibited in India and around the world, including at the Fabric of India show at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
