Hiral Bhagat

Hiral is an Ahmedabad based calligraphy artist who works with the script of her
mother tongue, Gujarati. Her art practice involves extensive analysis of literary works
to explore text content, rhythm, length, and their implications for visual expression.
She believes calligraphy has the power to break language barriers, and create an
evocative shared understanding. Hiral’s work has been exhibited at shows across
India and outside, and she is frequently invited to conduct workshops on calligraphy
for students of art.
