Banoo Batliboi is a self-taught paper artist. She works with old, often abandoned books, re-imagining them into amazing paper sculptures, that she brings to life using precision folding (rather than cutting or sticking). She then transforms them yet again, by photographing and printing these extraordinary creations in surprising ways including on reflective or metallic surfaces. Banoo makes us view books in a whole new way - not just as a medium for communicating knowledge and history but as objects with their own special visual and tactile qualities.
