One of India’s foremost Gond artists, Venkat Raman Singh Shyam’s art explores 
traditional themes and engages with contemporary issues. His creative use of colours, forms and materials previously unexplored in Gond art have enriched its landscape.

Circle Of Life is a commentary on the unchanging essence of life across time. The birds, small in the centre, grow in size as they move outward, but their character remains intact. Looking inwards from the periphery, the birds seem to shrink, signifying a return to the beginning towards the end of life. The artist appeals to us to ignore the distractions of material ambition and disparity, and focus instead on the core of our shared humanity, in all its beauty and fallibility.
