Artist and illustrator Jit Chowdhury works with natural indigo and shola-pith, using collaging, weaving and sculpting to tell stories of everyday urban life.

Urban Patchwork delves into the stories etched into the exteriors of urban Indian homes. In this piece the artist juxtaposes eclectic visuals, architecture, and the diverse lives of a city’s inhabitants, to reflect the dynamic interplay between traditional and contemporary urban landscapes. Through rich textures and patterns, he shows how the evolution of a city’s architecture and the daily lives of its people intersect, creating a vibrant mosaic that defines its character.
