"Monstera" uses thick, textured impasto to capture broad, moonlit leaves glowing against a dreamy gradient of teal and azure. The contrast of sharp foliage and misty shadows evokes the quiet, mysterious stillness of a sleeping tropical garden.
With roots in Delhi and Punjab and having lived and worked across different parts of Maharashtra, Vandana Krishna’s artistic sensibility has been shaped by a diverse cultural landscape.
Her artistic practice moves fluidly between figuration and abstraction, often placing figures within atmospheric landscapes or layered environments, inviting viewers to find their own meaning within the work. The artist is fascinated by the emotional depth that can emerge from everyday moments. Her recent works explore the urban landscape of Mumbai—its glass façades, open skies, and rain-soaked streets—using reflection as both a visual motif and a metaphor for perception, memory, and inner experience.
