Shiv Kumar Swami’s work seeks to portray every face of human society “as it is.” His practice is rooted in observation and the manifestation of lived realities through any medium available to him. While he adopts a less analytical approach to forming characters, he pays close attention to the details that weave together the larger narrative of each composition.
He strongly believes that every aspect of society and culture holds immense intrinsic value. For this reason, he gives equal importance to the loves and loathings that shape human existence. Working in a figurative language that is exaggerated, distorted, and cinematic, Swami creates images that are accessible to a wide audience, inviting viewers to reflect on their past, present, and future.
