In "Sunflowers In Green", the artist uses thick impasto to set fiery golden sunflowers in a terracotta pot against deep sage greens. Fallen spent blossoms at the base add a poignant touch, capturing the fleeting, raw beauty of nature.
With roots in Delhi and Punjab and having lived and worked across different parts of Maharashtra, Vandana Krishna’s artistic sensibility has been shaped by a diverse cultural landscape.
Her artistic practice moves fluidly between figuration and abstraction, often placing figures within atmospheric landscapes or layered environments, inviting viewers to find their own meaning within the work. The artist is fascinated by the emotional depth that can emerge from everyday moments. Her recent works explore the urban landscape of Mumbai—its glass façades, open skies, and rain-soaked streets—using reflection as both a visual motif and a metaphor for perception, memory, and inner experience.
