One of the two mountain mischief makers. This bird goes by many names. My favourite one is ‘whistling schoolboy’. If you’re walking along a trail, hearing this schoolboy whistle his cheerful melody is an absolute treat. However, if you leave your tiffin unattended as you rest in a meadow, he’ll drop by to steal the aloo from your paranthas. I’d encourage you to keep your eyes and ears open for him, on your next visit to the mountains.
