Inspired by the Art Deco buildings around Mumbai’s Oval Maidan, this piece draws on geometric patterns, wave motifs, and streamlined forms that suggest movement and modernity. Amba’s woven textile captures these elements, translating architecture into thread. A custom wooden structure by SHED holds the textile lightly, evoking the provisional nature of scaffolding—structures that signal transition and make space for what is underway. Freestanding and open on all sides, it is conceived as a spatial installation rather than a framed work, echoing the architectural observations from which it draws.
