Sahar Futehally is a Mumbai-based artist whose intricately hand-built works blur the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and object. Working with acrylic on paper, she constructs layered compositions through cutting, painting, and assembling individual elements, creating vibrant interpretations of animals, birds, and insects.
Trained in Commercial Art, Textile Design, and Graphic Design, Futehally’s practice is distinguished by its rich textures, intricate patterns, and nuanced use of colour. Through a meticulous process of layering and surface-building, she transforms familiar natural forms into tactile, expressive works that balance precision with playfulness.
Drawing from a lifelong immersion in art and design, her work reflects a deep sensitivity to composition, craftsmanship, and materiality, resulting in pieces that invite both curiosity and close observation.
