Due to the rise in water temperatures, some corals change colour as a last-ditch effort to survive. Scientists discovered that colourful bleaching events occur when corals produce "what is effectively a sunscreen layer" to protect against harmful rays and create a glowing display that encourages algae to return. This process is a chilling, beautiful and heart breaking final cry for help as the coral attempts to grab our attention.  This series diptych is an attempt to bring your attention to this phenomenon occurring in the depths of our oceans.
