The Luna Maria are large, dark, basaltic plains of Earth’s moon formed by ancient asteroid. Named as ‘Maria’ by early astronomers who mistook them for actual seas, they are less reflective than the highlands as a result of their iron-rich composition, and hence appear dark to the naked eye. Created using graphite and acrylic in a media collage, this series of 4 works is a play of texture and form bursting out of a round format. 

Care instructions : Keep indoors, away from light. Wipe glass occasionally with clean cloth.
