Dhokhe Bagh is a powerful work that depicts a tiger carrying a ballot box-like object on its back, inscribed with the word Khokha, a colloquial term for Rs 1 crore. As the ballot box, a symbol of democratic choice, is undermined by the influence of money in politics, the tiger, once a figure of unyielding authority, appears weighed down by it. This work questions the legitimacy of governance in a system where wealth is all powerful, and exposes the tragic consequences of the unbridled pursuit of financial gain.
