An exquisitely crafted ritual Theyyam Breast and Torso plate from Kerala. This breast & torso plate is worn exclusively during the annual Theyyam festival in Kerala and transforms the dancer into Bhadrakali, a popular form of the goddess worshipped in Kerala, where she is seen as the auspicious and fortunate form of Kali. The piece has been beautifully carved from a single piece of wood with cobras around the neck and a very ornamental neckpiece. The rusticity and raw exquisiteness of the piece is quite spellbinding. There are holes on the top ends which can be used to hang the piece off the wall
Please note that handcrafted pieces may show minor variations in colour and detailing
Care instructions: Wipe the piece with a soft, dry cloth. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, dampness, heat or cold.
All art to be shipped outside India will be sent in unframed form.
