Chandni Urveti

Chandni Urveti is a Gond artist from Madhya Pradesh. She has been painting since she was a child, having learned this traditional art form first from her uncle Shambhu Dayal Shyam, and subsequently from Padma Shri awardee Durgabai Vyam. Chandni sees her art as a platform to tell the wider world about the Gond way of life, its connectedness to nature, and its long and rich heritage. Her work has been shown at exhibitions across India’s major cities, and she is a recipient of the Kalidas prize from her home state of Madhya Pradesh.
