Rajendra Kumar Urveti

Rajendra Kumar Urveti is a Gond artist who learned the art initially from his uncle Shambhu Dayal Shyam, and then from the acclaimed Durgabai Vyam.  His work tells stories of the Gond way of life, depicting  animals, the natural environment and village life, in a tradition that has been handed down to him by his ancestors. Rajendra has exhibited across India and was awarded the Kalidas prize by the state of Madhya Pradesh in 2017.
